The Making of I Too Sing America: Creating Choreography from Text
Tues 10/20 & Wed 10/21
4:30 – 6:00 pm (90 min)

Instructors: Rodney Earl Jackson Jr. and Jamie Yuen-Shore

This workshop will encourage students to tell relevant and important stories through choreography. How do we create movement which supports and enhances the stories we tell onstage? How do we create movement which elicits emotion? These are the important questions this workshop will address.

 

Drag Make-up and Performance
Tues 10/13  & Wed 10/14
4:30 – 5:30 pm  (60 min)

Instructor: Leigh Crow

Put your King face on and find your drag personality. This workshop will offer a step by step drag king make-up tutorial, and a lesson in performative masculinity. This workshop is appropriate for people of all gender identities.

 

Yiddish Theater: God of Vengeance and Indecent
Tues 10/6
5:30 – 6:30 pm  (60 min)

Instructor:  Adina Verson

This workshop, instructed by actress Adina Verson , original Broadway cast, will be about the creation of the staging and characters in the Tony award winning play (2017) Indecent, which is about the inception and eventual censorship of the play God of Vengeance by Sholem Asch. This play tackles the themes of censorship, discrimination and immigration, while celebrating the beautiful tradition of Yiddish Theater.


DANCE WORKSHOP

Do you find yourself dancing to hit songs from musicals like SIX, HAMILTON, or LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL? Then this is the class for you! BUT, this is not like any of the other dance classes you have taken through Zoom. In DANCE WORKSHOP, you will learn one entire choreographed musical theatre piece. You will learn choreography, rehearse it, and record yourselves doing it to create a production video with your peers.


SELF-TAPE 101
Thursdays 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22
4:30 – 6:00 pm  (90 min)

Instructors: Nicola Bosco-Alvarez, Anthony Chan, Cassie Grilley

Self tapes are what actors and casting directors refer to when it is considered a digital casting audition, instead of the alternative of an in person auditions and or interview. Learn how to better utilize  the equipment you have, improve your sound, record in a tight space, and much more!



No experience necessary for any of these courses.
