Creative Writing Workshop for Teens
12:00 – 5:00pm
June 22 – July 2, 2026
Ages 13 – 17

Do you have an idea for a play, a musical, or do you just love to write poetry, songs, or stories? This is the camp for you! Young People’s Teen Musical Theatre Company (YPTMTC) is thrilled to be collaborating with the SF Creative Writing Institute to offer a writing camp just for teens! Participants will explore the world of creative writing led by experienced professional using a variety of writing techniques. The session will conclude with a showcase of staged readings. Full attendance and participation in final showcase are required. Partial attendance not permitted.

Please bring a journal, laptop (if available), preferred writing utensils, snacks/lunch, and water.

 

Vocal & Acting Camp
12:00 – 5:00pm
July 6 – July 17, 2026
Ages 13 – 17

This is a challenging, 2 week Vocal and Acting camp with an emphasis on musical theatre performance. Daily classes will include vocal and acting techniques and are designed to challenge all skill levels. Participants will learn a diverse array of techniques, improv, theory, and vocabulary while exploring selections of songs and scenes from musical for soloists, small groups and ensembles. Participants are expected to follow musical scores and script from Broadway musicals, plays, short stories, Shakespeare, and additional provided material. Full attendance and participation in final showcase is required. Partial attendance not permitted. Previous experience in vocal, acting or musical theatre recommended.


Musical Theater
12:00 – 5:00pm
July 20 – July 31, 2026
Ages 13 – 17

This is a challenging, 2-week Musical Theatre session with an emphasis on performance. Daily classes will include vocal, acting and dance techniques and are designed to challenge all skill levels. Participants will learn a diverse array of techniques, improv, theory, and vocabulary while exploring selections of songs and scenes from musicals for soloists, small groups and ensembles. Participants are expected to learn choreography and take daily dance classes, follow musical scores and scripts from Broadway musicals, plays, short stories, Shakespeare, and additional provided material. Full attendance and participation in the final showcase on the last day of the session is required. Partial attendance is not permitted. Previous experience in vocal, acting, dance or musical theatre recommended.
